Barung Landcare, established in 1989, sits in the headwaters of four major river systems in the Blackall Range in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Based in Maleny, Barung Landcare is a leading community-based organisation working to develop ethical solutions for a sustainable future. Buderim Historical Society was established to conserve and preserve Buderim and local regional pioneer history, artifacts and data, as a background resource to modern regional development and lifestyles. Pioneer Cottage is a valued and significant local heritage-listed building which stands on its original site dating back to the 1870′s. It is open to the public by volunteers.

Coolum Community Native Nursery has been established since 2005 to grow coastal native and salt tolerant plant species, as well as offering a range of local rainforest plants.
Get Involved: Volunteers play a crucial role in the nursery function and are encouraged to participate in all aspects of nursery operation on a regular basis. We offer training and a first class community nursery facility with shaded areas, tables and chairs, kitchenette, car parking and toilet facilities. Our nursery fosters community interaction and togetherness via native plant seed collecting and propagation. Our weekly seed collecting trips are very popular!
Volunteering: The nursery family is over 50 strong and we share morning teas and lunches together at the nursery. All excess revenue goes into improving the facilities for volunteers and special groups like primary schools, traineeship teams, and other conservation groups. Fusion International Fusion is an International Youth and Community Organisation that works with people of goodwill in response to researched community needs with the purpose of practically meeting these needs, so as to bring young people and their communities together with hope. Last year, Lifeline Sunshine Coast helped to make a difference in over 10,000 people’s lives attending over 5,800 phone calls on our 24 hour Crisis Line and looking after over 2,500 Face-to-Face counselling sessions by appointment. Today, we exist to strengthen the lives of individuals, families and communities through wide-ranging services that deliver enhanced access, efficiency and outcomes to people who are most vulnerable.
While we are most well known for our 24-hr Crisis Counselling Line 13 11 14, we have also expanded our services to cover more than just crisis and intervention. Many of our centres provide workshops that focus on issues like anger management, self esteem, communication skills and improving parenting techniques in face to face or group programs and counselling.

The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing free care and support to patients and their families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders. The Foundation also funds cutting edge research to find improved treatments and hopefully a cure.

Maroochy Waterwatch is a significant not for profit organisation with a diverse network that embraces a number of environmental and community issues. Its activities, achievements and professional standard water quality data collected are recognised by industry, government and the wider community. The organisation has a large volunteer base and activities as varied as the issues facing the Maroochy River and the Region.
Some examples of these are listed below:
• More than 60 families undertake monthly water quality testing and reporting.
• Creek rehabilitation project support the efforts of hundreds of landowners.
• The Waterwatch River Patrol provides advice to river users whilst retrieving rubbish.
• A public education campaign which raises awareness of the importance of the river.
• Several social enterprises including Maroochy Catchment Services and the Coolum Community Native Nursery.
• Acting as a hub for the Queensland Environmental Sustainable Schools Initiative.

Meals on Wheels – MaroochydoreMeals on Wheels is a community based service organised to help persons who have difficulty or are unable to prepare and cook meals for them selves.
From the Maroochydore kitchen, fresh hot meals are delivered five days a week to Maroochydore, Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba, Mountain Creek, Buderim, Forest Glen, Sippy Downs, Bli Bli and Cotton Tree areas.
Night Eyes is a volunteer group widely known for its clean up work in the Pumicestone Passage, surrounding canals, waterways, foreshores and streets of Caloundra. It may seem a funny name as the group now mainly works during daylight hours but with a membership exceeding 250 a lot of eyes are watching your area. New members always welcome with our boats on the water most week days.

NoosaCare Inc provides aged care accommodation at Carramar in Tewantin and Kabara in Cooroy. Queensland Air Museum is a not-for-profit community group dedicated to preserving and displaying all aspects of Australian aviation history. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in aviation. Solutions Adult Learning Centre is a nonprofit community organisation that helps adult’s improve their reading, writing, computer, spelling and numeracy skills and work very closely with community organisations in Nambour and surrounding areas. Street Angels (supported by Community Solutions Inc.) is a volunteer based public safety service for individuals in need due to homelessness, intoxication, substance abuse and/or any other issue, which has caused personal distress or has the potential to cause physical harm to themselves or others. Street Angels assists these people in need by operating shifts in the Mooloolaba Esplanade precinct on Friday and Saturday nights and at numerous community events. Suncoast Community Legal Service Inc is a non-profit organisation. Our team of volunteer lawyers and receptionists provide free Legal Advice sessions on Family and General Law issues and Community Legal Education seminars throughout the Sunshine Coast. The Principal Solicitor also provides limited assistance with more complicated legal issues and tasks. The Community Legal Education seminars are held at local libraries and community centres. Seminar topics include Wills, Estate & Power of Attorney and Family Law changes.

We are an umbrella group representing a diverse range of community interests such as: Landcare, Permaculture,Wildlife, Waterwatch and residents groups, who over 30yrs ago came together and decided the coast needed a voice for maintaining sustainability and environmental protection on the Sunshine Coast. U3A is a volunteer organisation providing learning and activity programs for retired people ie people in their “Third Age”. We run over 120 programs ranging from Learning about Computers, Beginners Language courses for Travellers, guest lecturers on a range of Science and the Humanities subjects, as well as various sports and exercise/aquacise classes.
